Entrance Counseling

Entrance Counseling is a mandatory educational module that ensures you understand the terms and conditions of your loan and your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. You’ll learn what a loan is, how interest works, your options for repayment, and how to avoid delinquency and default. When you finish with the module, a record of your completion will be sent to the school you select – make sure you select WVU Parkersburg! – and we can then process your student loan request. Follow the steps below to complete your Entrance Counseling:

  1. Go to studentaid.gov/entrance-counseling/
  2. Find the box labeled “I am an Undergraduate Student” and click the blue button on the right that reads “Log in to Start.”
  3. Use the FSA ID and password that you used to complete your FAFSA to log in.
  4. Follow the instructions in each section and complete the counseling module.
  5. Add WVU Parkersburg as your school and click “Notify this school.” WVU Parkersburg will move from the left to the right if you have successfully selected it.
  6. Make sure you click “Submit” at the end to complete the process. We should receive notification that your counseling is completed within 2-3 business days.
