Credit Balance Refunds

If a student receives financial aid that exceeds the amount of their institutional charges (tuition, fees, books), the remainder is called a credit balance – which in some cases, can be refunded to the student to be used for living expenses while attending college.

All credit balances at West Virginia University at Parkersburg are processed through a third-party entity – BankMobile.  Through BankMobile, three different refund options are available:

• Deposit to your existing bank account – Your credit balance is transferred directly to an existing account. Typically, it takes 1-2 business days from the time the funds are sent to BankMobile from WVUP for your bank to credit the funds to your account.

• Deposit to a BankMobile VIBE checking account – If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account, money is deposited the same day the funds are sent to BankMobile from WVUP.

• Paper check by mail is an option, but much less efficient and convenient than the direct deposit options.
