Computer & Information Technology
By pursuing a degree in the Computer Information Technology program, you will work with cutting edge technology and solve interesting problems as you develop the skills necessary for success in networking, computer technology, systems administration and other related fields. Our program’s two-year and four-year degrees are designed with the input of industry leaders, and when students graduate from our program, they possess a degree, certification and experience – the top three things employers are looking for. Not to mention, students in the computer information technology program can seamlessly transfer into the cybersecurity and network administration program to receive their bachelor’s degree.
Along with the general education requirements, students will take courses preparing them for many industry-recognized certifications, including A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate Certification (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Professional Certification (MCP) and Linux+.
Learn And Earn Program
West Virginia University at Parkersburg offers students the opportunity to gain work experience while completing their associate in Computer Information Technology through a state-funded program called Learn and Earn.
The Learn and Earn program is sponsored by the West Virginia Community and Technical College System, and is part of the Workforce Development Initiative Program. It is an opportunity to create partnerships between industry and community and technical colleges by allowing students hands-on learning experience, and employers to train ideal future employees.
