I chose WVU-P because it was close to home and the best fit for the degrees I wanted to pursue – it is is the first and only college I have attended, and I’m excited to share that I will graduate this May.

I’ve been pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Financial Management.

The scholarships I’ve received helped to ease some of the financial burdens from myself and my family. There were times when I thought I would have to drop out because of the added expense college brings. Attending college, raising a family, and working a full-time job is very taxing on a person emotionally and financially, so I’m grateful not to have to worry as much about the cost.

I want to give a shout-out to Dr. Larry Mueller. He is the most knowledgeable, caring professor that I’ve had in my college career. After my classmates and I were inducted into Delta Mu Delta, he sent each one of us an email that relayed how proud he was of us. He’s also a fantastic instructor, and I don’t think he forgets a student once he’s had them in class.

While attending WVU-P, I’m working full-time as an Office Manager/Billing Clerk/EMT and was recently promoted to interim Executive Director of the agency. Just working on my degree has not only helped to further me in my career by giving me the knowledge and tools to make me someone valuable to the agency, but It’s helped my boss to realize that I have what it takes to advance further in my career.

I recommend WVU Parkersburg – It’s a wonderful community college that’s very mindful of each students’ growth.
