SYMPATHY NOTE. The campus community extends its sympathies to staff member Senta Goudy whose father John a. Goudy passed away on April 13, 2017. Visitation is Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, South Parkersburg. The funeral service will immediately follow visitations at 4 p.m. with Pastor Joseph N. Bush officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to South Parkersburg Baptist Church.

SAAM: In the United States April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During April people raise awareness about sexual violence and how to prevent it. Wear TEAL on April 4 To show your support of victims and survivors of sexual assault in West Virginia and across the nation. STUDENT RECITALS: Two West Virginia University at Parkersburg students will present voice recitals in April. Yiyi Ocasio-Kaftanic will perform at the First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana Street, at 4 p.m., on Saturday, April 1, and Juliane Beckett will perform at the First Presbyterian Church, 1341 Juliana Street, at 3 p.m., on Saturday, April 8. Both students are completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in multidisciplinary studies with music as one of three minor fields. The recitals will be performed again in the new Nina Phares Music Performance Room on the WVU Parkersburg campus on Monday, April 10 at 11a.m. and 12:30 p.m. All performances are free and the public is invited. CLOTHESLINE PROJECT: WVU at Parkersubrg will be hosting the “sexual assault” and “domestic violence” displays of the local Clothesline Project on Monday, April 3, from noon until 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. It is sponsored by the Social Justice Committee in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. PURSE BINGO: The community is invited to join the WVU Parkersburg Staff Council on Saturday, April 22nd at 6pm in the College activities for some rousing games of bingo. Purses include: Coach, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Betsey Johnson & More! For more information or to prepay for tickets, please call Tess Martin at 304.424.8328. Reserve seating for six or more is available. Doors open at 4:30pm. Bingo starts at 6pm.
