Learn to Drive with Confidence — Classes Start January 6

Ready to earn your driver’s license? WVU Parkersburg is here to help! Our Driver Training Program provides the skills and confidence you need to become a safe, responsible driver.

Who Can Enroll?

This program is open to anyone who holds a valid instructional permit or driver’s license.

Program Location & Schedule

Classes are held at the WVU Parkersburg Innovation & Technology Center (ITC) at 1961 Innovation Drive, Vienna, WV — convenient for both students and working adults.

This program focuses on building hands on confidence and skills behind the wheel and most ‘classes’ take place in the driver’s seat. However, there will be two classroom sessions:

  • Jan. 6: at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 3 at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Driving sessions will be scheduled in small groups of two-three students; each student will drive for approximately one-third of the session to ensure plenty of practice time.

  • Driving Dates: Jan. 13, 20, 27 and Feb. 12*, 17, 24 (*All classes are schedule on Tuesdays except for Feb. 12 — a Thursday.)
  • Meeting Times: will be arranged based on student availability on the first day of class. Most sessions will take place between 3:30 and 8 p.m.
  • Session Length: Most driving sessions will last approximately 90 minutes but could be scheduled between 75-120 minutes depending on class need.

Additional Details:

  • Class Size: Minimum of 6 –maximum of 9 students
  • cost: $300 per person. DMV testing fees are not included. This program is not eligible for Financial Aid.
