The Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology program at WVU Parkersburg provides students with applied, industry-focused training that prepares them for today’s technical careers. Unlike traditional engineering programs, this curriculum centers on real-world design, manufacturing, and technology applications using current industry practices, with less emphasis on advanced theoretical math. From the first semester, students engage in hands-on coursework in lab and shop environments, gaining practical experience in machining, electronics, CAD, and problem solving.
Students can also continue their education through WVU Parkersburg’s seamless 2+2 transfer pathway with West Virginia University. After earning their associate degree, graduates can transfer to Morgantown to complete a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.
