Description
The EMT-Basic course is intended to prepare a medically competent EMT-Basic to operate in the field while caring for the ill or injured. Topics of study include patient assessment, airway management and ventilation, PPE, and more. Students will earn their CPR certification during the course and be prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Exam.
Included in tuition: textbooks, uniform shirt for clinicals, CPR certification, national exam
For clinicals, students must purchase black boots and pants.
The cost for this course is $2,000 per person. Financial assistance is available to West Virginia residents who qualify. Funding and/or payment must be secured by September 14, two weeks prior to class starting.
Requirements
– At least a Senior in High School
– Student must purchase own black or navy blue pants and black boots
– Computer and Internet access required
– Background check, immunizations, drug testing, physical – must have these turned in by October 28 for clinicals
