WVU at Parkersburg Foundation Awards Scholarships to Students for 2026–2027 Academic Year

Parkersburg, W.Va. (June 8, 2026) — The WVU at Parkersburg Foundation is proud to announce the award of scholarships to students for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. This year’s recipients were selected from a competitive pool of applicants and will receive funding through dozens of named endowments and scholarship funds established by generous donors across the region.

Scholarships were awarded from numerous named funds, supporting students from communities throughout West Virginia and Ohio. Recipients represent a wide range of academic programs and backgrounds, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to higher education in the Mid-Ohio Valley region.

Among the funds supporting students this year are the Carol Hamill Memorial Fund, the Douglass Adams Memorial Fund, the Ruth Hornbrook Scholarship, the Sara Jane Way Memorial Scholarship, the Simonton Windows Scholarship, the Edna Hamilton Memorial Scholarship, the Minnie Hamilton Scholarship, the Bernard Bernheimer Memorial Scholarship, the Irene Conaway Nursing Fund, the Seth Michael Miller Memorial Scholarship, and many others — each representing the lasting generosity of donors who believed in the power of education to transform lives.

“These scholarships make a real difference for our students,” said Olivia Reeder, President of the WVU Parkersburg Foundation. “They reflect the incredible generosity of our donors and the deep commitment this community has to investing in the next generation.”

In total, the Foundation is awarding $191,000 in scholarships this academic year, ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars per recipient and distributed across both fall and spring semesters. Students receiving nursing scholarships, need-based awards, and program-specific funding are among this year’s recipients.

The Foundation also proudly recognizes ten recipients of the Presidential Scholars Award, presented to outstanding graduating seniors from local high schools across the region. Presidential Scholars receive full tuition coverage for the 2026–2027 academic year — a commitment of $4,608 per student, representing an additional $46,080 investment in the next generation of Riverhawk students.

Combined, the Foundation’s total scholarship investment for the 2026–2027 academic year reaches $239,080.

The WVU at Parkersburg Foundation will open applications for the next round of scholarships on October 1, 2026, for the Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 academic year. Students currently enrolled or planning to enroll at WVU Parkersburg are encouraged to apply.
