Children can have a fun and interactive learning experience through WVU Parkersburg’s Kids’ College 

Parkersburg, W.Va. (May 29, 2026) — Children ages 8 to 12 can attend WVU Parkersburg’s annual Kids’ College program this summer for a mix of fun and educational classes.

“Kids’ College has been a staple at WVU Parkersburg for over a decade. This summer program is an opportunity for kids ages eight to 12 to have fun while exploring future career opportunities,” said April Crone, program coordinator. “We are excited to once again offer hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, teamwork and curiosity.”

Classes are primarily taught by WVU Parkersburg faculty and community partners and introduce youth to a variety of college subjects and career paths. Participants can choose four classes per week, with topics ranging from arts and crafts and science to technology and creative writing.

Class offerings may include:

  • Farm Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Criminal Justice
  • Welding
  • Music Technology
  • Photography
  • Yoga
  • Anime Drawing
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Kids in Motion
  • Science Lab
  • Career Exploration
  • Cartoon Drawing
  • First Aid
  • Theater

Kids’ College will take place from June 15-18, June 22-25 and June 29 though July 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $150 per week with lunch provided. The deadline to register is May 31, 2026
