West Virginia University at Parkersburg has hired two new administrators. Scott Poe began as the human resources director in late December. In February, Dr. Tabitha Anderson joined as the vice president of the college’s Workforce and Community Education.
“We are very excited to have these talented individuals join our team,” said Dr. Marie Foster Gnage, WVU Parkersburg president. “With strong backgrounds in their specific fields, they bring much knowledge and experience to their positions.”
A native of the area, Poe has a bachelor of science in business administration from West Liberty University, and graduated from Parkersburg High School. He served as director of human resources at Pleasant Valley Hospital and employment/recruitment coordinator and compensation and benefits manager for Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. Most recently he worked as human resources manager at Matheny Motor Truck Company in Parkersburg.
Coming to Parkersburg from Cypress, Texas, Anderson most recently served as learning and organization performance consultant at Learning and Performance Solutions Group. Prior to that, she was a clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M University where she taught courses in leadership, organization development and adult learning principles. She also served eight years as a training specialist and manager at Bellville Tube Co. in Bellville, Texas.
Anderson has a bachelor of science in human resource development and industrial technology education from Indiana State University, a master’s degree in health policy and management from Texas A&M University and a doctorate in workforce education and development from Pennsylvania State University.
