WVU Parkersburg hosted its second annual Doggone Meowy Christmas on Thursday, Dec. 7 in the main campus student lounge. The event brought students, faculty and staff together in support of the Humane Society of Parkersburg (HSOP) with a donation drive of animal care items.

In the weeks leading up the event, the college collected items for the HSOP. The Office of Institutional Advancement furnished a holiday tree in the lounge to place donations under, with pictures of HSOP animals up for adoption as the decorations.

The Thursday event included holiday treats for those in attendance as well as a doggy meet-and-greet with Pearl, a long-haired foster Chihuahua.

The college extends a warm thank you to all campus community members that donated, and to all of the volunteers and staff at the HSOP that dedicate their efforts to the care and protection of animals in our community.
