WVU Parkersburg, DuPont accepting nominations for Martin Luther King, Jr. legacy award

West Virginia University at Parkersburg and DuPont Washington Works are accepting nominations for a co-sponsored Mid-Ohio Valley Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy award. The deadline to submit nominations is Jan. 6, and the award will be presented during a community celebration Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

The winning nominee will be a Mid-Ohio Valley citizen who best exemplifies the legacy of reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Nominees must have substantial contributions in the advancement of civil rights, human rights, equality, humanitarianism, social justice for all people or other demonstrated record of working to fulfill the dreams and values of Martin Luther King Jr. They must also be a resident of the Mid-Ohio Valley, which includes Calhoun, Jackson, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood Counties in West Virginia and Washington County in Ohio. Full-time employees of WVU Parkersburg or DuPont Washington Works are not eligible recipients.
