West Virginia University at Parkersburg honored 29 students, six faculty and staff members and one area business during its annual Honors Ceremony held on April 27, 2018 in the College Activities Center. The event was sponsored by United Bank.

Dr. Jane Milley, WVU Parkersburg Interim President, presented the Partner of the Year award to the Chemours Company who recently made a donation to the college. The donation included 30 desktop computer, 49 laptops, 58 network switches and 18 redundant power supplies. This will provide practical hardware upgrades for two Computer Information Technology labs on campus.

Chemours is also a partner of the Learn and Earn program, which allows selected students in their second year of the CIT associate program to participate in a work rotation at the company while completing their scheduled courses.

“Over the last ten years, it has been a privilege to watch the students, faculty, staff and community members be recognized for their outstanding contributions,” said Vice President for Student Services Anthony Underwood. “To see the current and future leaders of tomorrow accept awards for their achievements is an honor.”

Award categories included the Academic All American Team; Outstanding Communication and Media Studies Awards; Legal Studies Awards; Art Awards; Collegiate Honors Choir; Outstanding Multicraft Student; Student Nurse of the Year for the RN program and the BSN program; STEM Awards; Business, Accounting, and Public Service Awards; Student Government Awards; and Faculty, Staff, and Adjunct Faculty Awards. The 2018-2019 Student Government Association Members were sworn in at the end of the event.
