15 Years of Teaching in the Global Classroom

The WVUP International Education Program began in 1994 by the husband and wife teaching team, Emily and George Lamb and since its origination has introduced students and faculty to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Australia, Tahiti, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, The Netherlands, Monaco, Germany, Spain, and the United States (California and Hawaii). Through the years, students have explored, in depth, Rome, Paris, London, Loire Valley and the Chateaux of France, and Amsterdam.

Today, in that same tradition, the program is coordinated by the husband and wife team, Gregg and Marybeth Busch, instructors of Sociology.  The WVUP International Education Program is designed for short term (less than one month), moderate (a semester), or long term (a year) study abroad opportunities.  Students are encouraged to discuss their international interests with the Coordinators of International Education and Travel and allow WVUP to develop a program to fit the student's special needs and interests.

In 2006, the international education focus expanded beyond the traditional study abroad opportunities to include components specifically designed to support the business and industrial communities.  Additionally, unique opportunities were developed to include support the special interests of the WVUP Alumni Association and the talented students of the WVUP Honors College.
