Sometimes called placement tests, these tests are designed to diagnose the math, English and reading skills of prospective students for course placement. The evaluations are administered primarily by appointment from mid-March to the close of Fall semester registration, and again from mid-October to the close of Spring semester registration. These exams are administered on both the Jackson County Campus and the Parkersburg campus. In-House exams are available for a variety of courses. Before taking and In-House exam, the matter must be discussed with the appropriate Division Chair. Then the Credit-by-Examination form should be completed at the Records Office (Rm. 1110).
WVU at Parkersburg offers career exploration inventories that are designed to help students determine how their interests relate to those of individuals currently employed in various career fields. Administered by appointment only, these tests are free to WVU Parkersburg students.
Other tests are available through the Student Development Center including American College Testing exam, Pre-Professional Skills Tests, Plumbers and Steamfitters exam and Automotive Service Excellence exam.
