What is the difference between the WV Higher Education Assistance for Part-time Students (HEAPS) and the West Virginia Higher Education Grant
(WVHEG)?
HEAPS is a need-based grant, for student enrolled part-time, which is 3-11 hours per semester.
WVHEG is also need-based, and a student must maintain a certain GPA and 12 credit hours each semester for renewal.
For both HEAPS and WVHEG, the FAFSA must be completed by April 15 for
the following academic year.
