West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s spring 2017 student teachers attended Marshall University’s Career Services Educator Expo. The event took place March 8 with 26 school systems from five states available to connect with future educators. The event is required for student teaching at WVU Parkersburg.

“I find this a valuable opportunity for our students to explore employment opportunities in and outside of West Virginia,” said Dr. David Lancaster, Education Division chair for WVU Parkersburg. “Our students leave the event with a better understanding of what schools are looking for when hiring new teachers.”

“It was an informative experience,” said student teacher Sandra McPeek. “It gave us the opportunity to meet with professionals in education. I got to meet with principals and other various school professionals.”
