Sen. Donna Boley to speak at WVU Parkersburg fall commencement

Parkersburg, W.Va. 12/12/12 – West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Fall 2012 Commencement will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14 in the College Activities Center. Commencement speaker will be state Senator Donna Boley.

A WVU Parkersburg alumna, Boley was recently elected to her eight term in the state Senate. She served as the minority leader in the 70th, 71st and 72nd legislatures and has also served as chair of the Pleasants County Republican Executive Committee, former chair of the West Virginian Republican Executive Committee. From 1992 to 2004, she served as a Republican national committeewoman. In 1968, she received the Distinguished West Virginian Award.

WVU Parkersburg’s fall 2012 graduating class includes 236 candidates for graduation who will receive approximately 279 degrees and certificates. Participating in the ceremony will be 87 members of the graduating class. WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage will preside over the ceremony. A reception for all of the graduates and their families will follow.
