Full-time working adults can now earn a business degree in 12 months with West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s new Weekend College program. Classes for the associate’s degree program begin Jan. 13. The college will offer an information session for those interested on Monday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. in room 1330.
The program’s blended course delivery, which combines online and face-to-face instruction, is designed to fit the needs of working adults. Face-to-face meetings will be one weekend per month, and students will start and finish the program in cohorts.
“We wanted to create a program where students would feel comfortable and get to know their classmates,” said program coordinator and business division chair Steve Morgan. “This provides a peer support system for students that we feel will help them be more successful.”
Students will graduate with an associate of applied science in business administration.
“This type of credential can give individuals the ability to make a career switch or even move up within their current companies,” said Morgan.
