Is financial aid available?
Yes, you will qualify for financial aid based on the semester you begin. If you are accepted for the August cohort, your financial aid package would be Fall and Spring, 2012-13.

Is it true you get paid for some of the time you are in school?
Yes, When you are working at the DuPont facilities, you will be paid approximately $12 per hour and will be working approximately 40 hours a week for 12 weeks. You will do this twice during the Learn and Earn program. That is approximately $11,520 of potential income.

What can I do with this certificate?

This certificate will roll into the Associate of Applied Science Board of Governors degree. All of your hours will transfer into this degree. Additional coursework will be required to complete the Associate degree.

How do I get enrolled?
Please remember, this is competitive admission, so applying for the program does not guarantee acceptance.
  1. Fill out an application for admission.

  3. You must have an ACT score of a 19 in Math, and 18 in English or better or pass.
    If you have not taken the ACT test, you may take our placement tests in English, Reading and Math. Placement tests are designed to ensure you have college-level skills. For more information and practice, click here.
    Placement tests cost $10 to take. Call 304.424.8319 to schedule testing. Let them know you are interested in Learn and Earn.

  4. You must take WorkKeys testing.

    To register for this test, please call 304.424.8277. The cost is $29.50. The next test date is June 22, 2012. Let them know you are interested in Learn and Earn.

  5. Once you are finalist, you will be asked to complete drug testing and a background check.

    First semester:
    12 weeks in class, Monday - Thursday

      • Math 111 Technical Mathematics
    12 weeks working at DuPont

    Second Semester:
    12 weeks in class Monday - Thursday

      • ATPT 141 Process Technology I - Equipment
      • ATPT 242 Process Technology II - Systems
      • ATPT 244 Process Technology III - Operations
      • ATPT 260 Capstone
      • ENGL 107 Technical Writing
    12 weeks working at DuPont
What if I have already taken technical math or technical writing? Will I need to repeat them?
No.

Am I guaranteed a job with Du Pont?
No. However, this is a great way to make a good impression and get your foot in the door.
