Become Obsessive-Compulsive!

Yes, this sounds like bad advice, but, trust me, it's a GOOD THING!

When you become obsessive about making every sentence you write conform to these rules and styles, you will have achieved business writing Nirvana!

When you become compulsive about watching for errors of every type in other people's writing, you will have gained a perfect appreciation for seeking the Holy Grail of business writing: total perfection in every sentence.

The grammar, punctuation, word choice, and sentence structure of each and every sentence must be perfect!  If you're not happy until it is perfect, you're appropriately obsessive-compulsive about your writing!

Take responsibility for ALL your writing.  Don't assume you will have a secretary or assistant who will "clean up" your writing errors.  A large key to success in writing for business is being aware of the need for perfection and constantly seeking it.
