JCC Computer LabsRooms 301 and 303 Room 111 Learning Center Computer Lab - open any time the JCC is open! For your information: OPEN
LAB:
The lab is "open" at any time the JCC is open for business
and there is not a scheduled class or workshop meeting in the lab.
Any member of our educational community, including students, faculty, staff, or community members may use the computer hardware and software at the JCC during "open lab" times. Academic labs are not to be used for participation in "chat rooms" unless specifically organized by a professor at WVUP. Please note that all uses of computers must
be for educational purposes only. Use of the Internet to conduct
searches should only be on topics pertaining to classroom assignments or
scholarly research. A lab schedule will be posted showing when the lab is open and when
lab staff members will be on hand to assist students or faculty. Lab staff members are available to answer simple questions on
software and to troubleshoot hardware or software problems. They should not be
expected to "teach" software. If a lab staff member is not available, please remember that you are
working "at your own risk." It is generally not appropriate to ask for
assistance from faculty or staff members who are on campus. CLOSED LAB:
The lab is "closed" during any time that a class is
scheduled to meet in the Academic Computer Lab. Please respect the instructors and those students who are registered
for those courses and plan to leave the lab at least 10 minutes before a class
is scheduled to begin. During those hours, only students registered for the course should
plan to work in the lab. If there are extra computers available during a scheduled class
time, you may approach the instructor of that class for special permission to
use the lab during that time. Please do ask the instructor for permission.
Please don't be offended if the instructor indicates that it is not appropriate
to use the lab on that day. Please refer to the WVU-P Jackson County
Center Computer Lab Regulations and Policies when
using the lab. Excessive abuses or problems caused by a
student in the Academic Computing Lab may result in a loss of privileges to use
the lab.
