Summer Courses Available with Early Enrollment
West Virginia University at Parkersburg is offering three intensive Early Admission courses this summer. Students must have successfully completed their 10th or 11th grade year and have a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Eligible high school student will be able to register for one course: a second course will be available with guidance counselor recommendation.
The courses are taught over a shortened semester lasting four weeks, and are therefore considered ‘intensive’. Fist-time students must complete an application for Early Admission and provide official High School transcripts so their cumulative GPA can be verified. Application materials should be submitted to the Admissions office at the WVUP main campus, or the Jackson County Center in Ripley.
All classes offered are part of the Core Coursework Transfer Agreement by the state of West Virginia. This means courses taken are transferable to any other state institution. By taking advantage of these summer intensive courses, students can get a jump start on their college education at a reduced price.
Since all courses are reserved for high school students only, they can be offered at the same rate charged when offered at a high school; approximately $252.00 tuition only, not including required book(s).
Please complete the the Contact Interest Form above or contact the Coordinator of Secondary Programs with any requests for individual consultation, group meetings at an area high school or to discuss questions regarding the registration process.
