Changes to RBA program

Effective Fall 2016, new students will no longer be able to use CS 101 as a math requirement. Currents students will be grandfathered in under the current guidelines as long as they do not sit out a year. Any returning students who have not been enrolled for one year, will fall under the new guidelines.

  • Example 1: Student A is a new college student Fall or transfers from another institution Fall 2016 and decides to pursue the RBA. He cannot use CS 101 as a math requirement.
  • Example 2: Student B has been in the RBA program since August 2015. He can use CS 101 as a math requirement.
  • Example 3: Student C has been an RBA student since August 2015. He was not enrolled the spring and summer 2016 term but re-enrolls August 2016. He cannot use CS 101 as a math requirement.

A new math course has been designed to help students meet the above requirement. Math 120 – Quantitative Literacy – is a course designed for math applications in real life. It will be offered as an evening course in Spring 2016. Math placement scores will be required.
