WVU at Parkersburg Foundation elects Leadership for 2004-2005

Roberts As the perpetual supporter of West Virginia University at Parkersburg, the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation elected its leadership team for the 2004-2005 year and re-appointed several board members. The WVU at Parkersburg Foundation is a well-respected, local Foundation established in 1971. The Foundation provides deserving students with scholarships, worthy faculty and staff with grants, resources for improving the academic programs of WVU at Parkersburg, and serving as the permanent supporter of WVU at Parkersburg. The newly elected officers of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation Board for 2004 – 2005 are: - President: C. Randall (Randy) Law of Parkersburg, WV is Sr. Vice-President/Sr. Trust Officer of WesBanco Trust & Investment Services, - Vice-President: Ronald N. Roberts of Parkersburg, WV is a retired GE Executive, - Treasurer: James R. Ice, CPA of Vienna, WV is Administrative Shareholder with Harman, Thompson, Mallory, & Ice, - Secretary: Rodney C. Windom of Harrisville, WV is a lawyer in private practice. In addition to the election of officers, the board re-appointed five board members to serve a new three year term. These board members include: - Paul L. Hicks of Parkersburg, WV is an attorney with Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, LLP, - Shirley Lawrence-Berrey of Parkersburg, WV is a retired RN and Red Cross Volunteer, - James McCutcheon of Parkersburg, WV is a Semi-Retired Auctioneer and Businessman, - Michael Nelson of St. Marys, WV is President of Pleasants County Bank , - Jason Wharton of Parkersburg, WV is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wood County. “The foundation board serves an extremely important role in the present and future of WVU at Parkersburg. The board guides the growth and success of the Foundation in working with the executive director to increase donor support. As budget cut backs for higher education continue on the state level, the work of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation becomes even more important.” stated C. Randall Law, president of the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation board. Since its founding, thousands of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s residents have benefited from the WVU at Parkersburg Foundation and its donors that allow for the college to continue its tradition of excellence in higher education. WVU at Parkersburg is the college that our community built and the Foundation serves to continue our community’s legacy of supporting public higher education in the Mid-Ohio Valley. “We are very fortunate to have these board members continue their longtime commitment to the Foundation and the college as we continue to do amazing things for the students of the Mid-Ohio Valley region.” noted the Foundation’s Executive Director Paul D. Daugherty.
