Bring Your Kids to Work Day. Please disregard yesterday’s notice regarding National “Bring Your Kids to Work Day”. Tomorrow, Thursday April 23, 2015 will be an exception that WILL allow you to Bring Your Kids to Work for this one-day event. Parents may not leave any child unattended for any period of time and they must be totally aware and responsible of their child’s behavior and respectful of their co-workers and the continued operations of the institution. SYMPATHY NOTE. The campus community is saddened to hear of the passing of WVU Parkersburg student  Jesse Logan Brown, 19, who passed away on April 17. Jessie was a freshman majoring in Criminal Justice. Friends may visit the family from 5-8 p.m. today, Wednesday April 22, at The Pit at Ravenswood High School, with Pastor Mike Blair speaking at 8 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, W.Va. EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION. A group of employees were recognized at the Board of Governors meeting on Wednesday, April 8 for their work to create the college’s Easter parade float. Committee leader Tammy Harper, records assistant, was presented with a certificate and check for $25, and the committee received a gift certificate for a pizza luncheon. IRONHAND. The Social Justice Committee invites you to a Native American presentation on Wednesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. in the College Theater at WVU Parkersburg. Ironhand, chief of the council for the Native American Alliance of Ohio, will present an educational and entertaining program about Indian customs, traditions, dress, drums and dance. WASPER is now bringing its recycling services to WVU Parkersburg on a regular basis. On the first Sunday and Monday of every month, the Wasper​ truck will be accepting household recyclables, including electronics, at the theatre loading dock from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. The service begins this Sunday, March 1. PICKLEBALL OPEN PLAY starts March 1. Games run every Sunday (except May 17 & 24) through June 21 in the College Activities Center. Cost is $5 per day, $3 per day Senior Rate (55+), $35 for a Regular Season Pass or $25 for a Senior Rate Season Pass. There are 3 courts available each week.
