SYMPATHY NOTE. The college community extends its sympathies to the friends and family of former faculty member Dr. Jane Somerville who died April 25, 2015 in Pasadena, California. A poet, critic, and editor, she was for many years an English professor at West Virginia University-Parkersburg, where she edited Gambit Magazine, established poetry-writing programs for older people, and founded the Ohio Valley Literary Group. SYMPATHY NOTES. We are saddened to hear of the passing of a number of employee loved ones. The campus community would like to exend condolences to Dana Mader, whose father-in-law, David G. Mader, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, to Sandra Gekosky whose mother, Julia Gekosky, passed away over the weekend and to Scott Poe, whose mother, Kathy J. Ullman, passed away yesterday. WASPER is now bringing its recycling services to WVU Parkersburg on a regular basis. PICKLEBALL OPEN PLAY starts March 1. Games run every Sunday (except May 17 & 24) through June 21 in the College Activities Center. Cost is $5 per day, $3 per day Senior Rate (55+), $35 for a Regular Season Pass or $25 for a Senior Rate Season Pass. There are 3 courts available each week. RECORDS OFFICE INFO. The Records Office will continue the current practice of transferring courses with “F” or “W” grades from other institution transcripts. This is an update to information provided in August 2014 in the “Need to Know Information from the Records Office” – which indicated that the process would change in November.
