The 120 hour Certified Bookkeeper designation assures the level of knowledge and skill needed to carry out all key functions through the adjusted trial balance, including basic payroll, depreciation, inventory, internal controls, and fraud prevention. Certification ensures an employer that you have the proven skills and knowledge to entrust their most valuable assets. This course is designed for experienced bookkeepers or accounting students finishing their second year.

Certification requirements:

  • Signing a code of ethics
  • Passing the 4 part national certification exam
  • Once certified, meeting ongoing continuing education requirements
  • Proving two years’ experience in bookkeeping or 3,000 hours part time or freelance experience before or after you take the national exam. You have three years from the date that you pass the exam to fulfill this requirement.
  • Criminal background check
