Introduction to the Master ID

Starting with the Spring 2008 semester, the Master ID will be used to log into the eCampus and the Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI) systems. If you are WVU at Parkersburg faculty, staff or a student, you have a Master ID account already.

Master ID is an identification for students who wish to use the following WVU services/systems:

STUDENTS: Finding Your Master ID and Setting Up a Password
    BEFORE Setting up your eCampus/Master ID...

Students must FIRST be able to log in and use their college assigned MIX email accounts before setting up their eCampus/Master ID, since students will receive email confirmation of the eCampus/Master ID request through their MIX accounts. Finding Your eCampus/Master ID...

A student can find his/her Master ID by going to http://directory.wvu.edu and finding his/her college email address. A student's Master IDs is the text that comes BEFORE the @ symbol in his/her email address.

Example: Email account = jjones9@mix.wvu.edu, Master ID = jjones9

ACTIVATE Your Master ID to Set Up Your PASSWORD...

To activate your Master ID account go to: http://adact.wvu-ad.wvu.edu/activation1.asp and type your Master ID in the text box, then click the Find Account button.

If you have not already activated your Master ID:

You will receive an email (automated) in your Mix email account that will require you to click on a link within the email to Confirm the request.

Once the request is confirmed, you will receive another email (not automated, so it might take up to15 minutes to receive) with information regarding your Master ID password.

Once you have received and read the second email from the OIT helpdesk, you should be able to set up your password and log into any Master ID authenticated system.

If you have already activated your Master ID:

You will receive an email (automated) to inform you that your account has already been activated. It will also give you directions for how to change your Master ID password or request a password reset.

FACULTY: Finding Your Master ID and Setting Up a Password
    A faculty member will first need to obtain his/her WVU Employee ID using his/her social security number at https://centralid.wvu.edu/wvuid. Copy the number, so you can paste it in the next step.

Paste the WVU Employee ID number in the textbox on this page to get your Master ID: http://idquery.wvu-ad.wvu.edu.

To activate your Master ID account go to: http://adact.wvu-ad.wvu.edu/activation1.asp and type your Master ID in the text box, then click the Find Account button.

On the next page, click the Activate button.

If you have not already activated your Master ID:
