Online Education

The West Virginia University at Parkersburg faculty and staff would like to welcome you to our Online Education Web site. Online courses are ideal for busy parents, working professionals, veterans, high schools students, and current classroom students. Distance learning courses offer the convenience of taking courses from the comfort of your home and the flexibility of doing coursework without disrupting your personal and/or professional schedule.

Before spending your time, effort, and money to take a course online, you should take the time to determine if you have the skills, study habits, and computer access (equipment and software) that will help you be a successful online student. Take this distance learning readiness survey to see if online courses are right for you.

eCampus Orientation Saturdays

Students who register for an e-course for the first time are highly encouraged to attend an eCampus Orientation Session. Fifty minute eCampus Orientation Sessions will be held to familiarize students with navigation and tool use in the eCampus. Orientation sessions will  be held on May 17, 2008, for summer students and on August 16, 2008, for fall students. Sessions last approximately fifty minutes. Orientation sessions are listed online above the list of the semester courses that are being offered at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. Students can register for an orientation session in the same manner that they register for their other courses.  During the event, students will be able to shop in the bookstore. Learn More
