Sub-heading 1 | Sub-heading 2 | Sub-heading 3 | Subheading 4 | ...
The "Connect" page is where you give students the information and knowledge that they need to reach the module goals and objectives. A large amount of content may be found on this page, so it is a good idea to provide the students with a table of contents or section contents (like the one above). Students can then click the links to go to the headings within the document. If you are using FrontPage you can do this by adding a "Bookmark" before each subheading, then linking the text in the section contents to the appropriate bookmark.
Divide each section with a "Return to Top" link, so that learners can quickly return to the table of contents:
Keep each section brief. If possible visualize concepts liberally, since students who read material on the screen (instead of printing pages) need as much help as they can. Leave a generous amount of white space around small text blocks. Try to use colors that are easy on the eyes and provide a lot of contrast with the background (one very light/the other very dark). Avoid busy backgrounds and unnecessary graphics that slow load time for dialup users. If the graphic does not contribute to the students' understanding of the content then do not use it.
