GPA Calculator

Print Friendly

Your GPA is calculated using Quality Points. Quality Points are calculated by multiplying the number of credit hours for a class by grade points.

  • 4 pts for an A
  • 3 pts for a B
  • 2 pts for a C
  • 1 pt for a D
  • 0 pts for an F

Courses with numbers beginning with a 0 (such as Math 021) do not count in GPA calculation.

Example of GPA Calculation:

Course Grade Expected Grade Points Times Credit Hours Equals Quality Points
Hist 101 A 4 x 3 = 12
Math 021 B x =
Biol 101 C 2 x 3 = 6
Biol 103 B 3 x 1 = 3
Engl 101 F 0 x 3 = 0
Totals 10 21

Divide the total number of Quality Points by the number of credit hours (in this example, 21 divided by 10). This calculates your GPA (21/10 = 2.10).
