Procedure for checking out equipment to faculty

The CTT offers faculty the ability to use portable technology from the convinces of your office, classroom, or home. It is important to note that the CTT operates on a first-come first-serve basis so being diligent in the reservation of equipment is essential.

Faculty seeking to reserve equipment for on or off-campus use must make a request by filling out the form listed at the bottom of this page.  You will receive verification and availability of your request within 24 hours of receipt.

Equipment must be reserved at least 48 hours prior to pick up and, generally, is on loan for one to twenty four hours. **You must contact a CTT technician if an extended time period is needed so further arrangements can be made.

It is not necessary to reserve certain equipment from the Center for Teaching and Technology. Circulating “on-demand” equipment may be checked out for one day. Refer to the list of available resources.

General Procedure

When equipment goes out...

The requesting party will report to the Center for Teaching and Technology between the hours of 8 am – 4 pm, to pick up the equipment. Each item will be scanned into a tracking system noting the time and date of check-out and return. At this time, the faculty member assumes responsibility for the equipment.

When equipment comes back…

Equipment must be returned on the pre-negotiated due date by 4 p.m. The items are expected to be returned in the same condition it was issued.  The CTT staff will verify the equipment's condition at return and scan the item(s) marking it returned in the equipment tracking system.

Training for Instructional Equipment

Any faculty member seeking to use equipment from the Center can request a training session prior to checking it out. Some instructional technologies are more complicated than others. It is important that you make your request for training at least 2 weeks prior to checking out equipment. This allows for scheduling and the availability of CTT staff.
