BTEC 235 -- Microsoft Word (2007) for Windows is a course designed  to familiarize students with the various components for document preparation and formatting for both the business world and for personal correspondence using computer simulation exercises and the word processing program --Microsoft Word 2007.  

The prerequisites required for this course are CS101--Introduction to Computing and keyboarding skills.  

Microsoft Word 2007 Only -- Internet Explorer -- e-Campus (WebCT).  (Not Works or WordPerfect)

Each Unit will have 400 total possible points equivalent to 100/A.

Late assignments will not be accepted or graded.

ACCT 310 -Accounting Information Systems covers basic accounting information systems presenting the flow of accounting transactions in business using QuickBooks Pro 2008 software.  Topics include creating a chart of accounts, recording customer and vendor transactions, processing payroll, printing reports, setting up a new company; Advanced topics: analysis of accounting information systems reports, exporting data to Excel, &  Quick Books audit trail. Prerequisites required for this course are ACCT 201--Accounting I and it is highly recommended students have computer skills.

Use only QuickBooks Pro 2008 Software & Textbook: -- Internet Explorer -- e-campus (WebCT).  Word 2007 - 2003 and Excel 2007 to 2003 will be used.

Storage Device:   USB drive or hard drive.    .

WARNING:  Students will send Quick Books Accounting Reports as Excel exports and/or screen captures instead of the actual QuickBooks Pro 2008 files as attachments for grading purposes.

BTEC 295 - Professional Development Seminar is designed to prepare business administration professionals to enter and to reenter the work force. In addition to the specialized technical skills that are necessary to be successful in the workplace, it is also important to be able to seize opportunities and confront problems in a professional manner. This course deals with the personal and organizational issues, attitudes, and behaviors faced in business. 

The prerequisites required for this course are GBUS 202--Business Communications and SPCH 101-- Introduction to Speech.  In addition, BTEC 235--Word for Windows is also highly recommended.  This semester there will be no oral presentations; therefore, SPCH 101 is not critical.
