The Science and Technology Division at WVU Parkersburg prides itself in offering you programs aligned to the workplace. The selection of skills and knowledge we provide you are guided by industry-recognized assessments and certifications. When you leave one of our programs, you receive not only a college credential but also certifications that are recognized nationwide by employers in your field of study. Examples include CISCO, NCCER, ADDA, NATE, MCP, A+, and OSHA cards. Additionally, our programs and assessments are designed to prepare you for other national certifications, such as NABCEP, BPI, CCNA, and CCNP.
The STEM division’s main office can be found in room 0128 in the main building. Our division is spread across three facilities on campus. In the main building we offer a variety of math and science courses. These courses help support various programs at WVU Parkersburg and also serve to prepare students in professions in medicine, the sciences, research, and engineering. The main building also houses our new science wing providing you state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment for chemistry, biology, physical science, anatomy and physiology, physics, astronomy and geology. At the Caperton Center for Applied Technology we present courses and labs in Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, Engineering Technology, and Drafting. At the Applied Technology Center, we have more classroom space and labs for our Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Electricity and Instrumentation, Multicraft, and Chemical and Polymer Operator programs.
As you can see, many opportunities await you in our division. Stop by to look around or speak to a program advisor to help find what you’re looking for.
