              Retention Efforts
  • Identify students at risk for attriting using systematic, “analytic” approach.


  • Once identified, determine who/what/when/ will address the at risk students.


  • Develop goals, outcome, and timeline for intervention efforts
  • Assess progress and provide report.

 Identifying students at risk for attriting by December 1, 2007
    • Students with D/F at mid-semester in fall 07
    • Students on academic probation or continuing probation at beginning of fall 07
    • Students on provisional admission entering in fall 07.
    • Students with financial aid issues.
    • Students with high ACT scores (above 24 composite)
    • Students with low ACT scores (below 17 composite)
    • Students who have to travel more than 30 miles to attend classes.
    • Students with children or family obligations.
    • Students who have not pre-registered for spring classes and are not graduating.
    • Students with two or more withdrawals in the current or previous semesters.
