Social Sciences and Languages
Welcome to the Social Sciences and Languages Division of West Virginia University Parkersburg. Whether carrying out mock crime scene investigations in the Criminal Justice Program, participating on the forensic speech and debate team, experiencing Japanese language and culture, learning the history of crime and punishment, pursuing leadership training and opportunities—we have much to offer. Try learning aerobics or table tennis; study the brain and abnormal behavior or world religions; explore Native American history or American Sign Language. Our division is also a vital contributor to the Regents Bachelor of Arts with concentrations in Psychology, Sociology, Communication Studies, and History; to the MDS (Multi-Disciplinary Studies) minors; as well as the EA (Early Admissions) courses at area high schools.
