A.A.S. Welding Skills Technology
The Associate in Applied Science Degree in Welding Skills Technology option enables students to complete all "hands-on" requirements, along with the academic courses which will enhance their "total" education. Students earning this degree are generally capable of becoming supervisors or working without close supervision. Occupational opportunities for skilled certified welders are virtually limitless. Welding skills are required in pipelines which carry steam, petroleum, or natural gas; in construction and maintenance of chemical plants; and in structural work involving steel, alloys, aluminum, or other metals.
This degree can be completed within 2 years provided you attend on a full-time basis and eligible to enroll in MATH 107 and English 107. The student will also become a good candidate for the Management Technician's Degree for training as a supervisor, inspector, or welding technician.
