WVU Parkersburg, WorkForce West Virginia host career expo

Parkersburg, W.Va. 3/9/12 – In today’s global economy, each of us needs to be aware of and interact with multiple cultures. Meet individuals who are knowledgeable about and have experienced different cultures. West Virginia University at Parkersburg and WorkForce West Virginia are hosting the Mid-Ohio Valley International Career Expo on Monday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the college’s main campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Attendees can participate in workshops and breakout sessions to learn more about specific cultures, the ins and outs of international travel and global career opportunities. Representatives from relevant organizations will be available to answer specific questions throughout the day. Guests are welcome to attend all or part of the day’s events.The keynote address, "How International Trade Impacts West Virginia," will be delivered by Keith Burdette, West Virginia’s secretary of commerce, at 12:45 p.m.

This event has received support from WVU Parkersburg’s Office of Career Services, the Workforce and Community Education Division, the Humanities Speakers Series, and the Office for Global Initiatives, as well as the Youth Advantage Program and the Workforce Investment Board Mid-Ohio Valley.
