President Gnage, Director Coffindaffer
As part of its 50th anniversary observance, West Virginia University at Parkersburg recognized the WV Legislature's March 3rd, 1961 confirmation of legislation allowing the creation of branch colleges.  The campus community and area residents observed the milestone with a campus brunch Thursday (March 3).  B.L. Coffindaffer, who served as director of the branch from 1963 to 1971, spoke of the branch's early days.  WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage presented Coffindaffer with a replica of the original bell from the college's first location, an elementary school building.
