FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
West Virginia University at Parkersburg will host an Organ Donation awareness
event on Wednesday, April 6.
Kathy
Warhola of Lifeline of Ohio and Donate Life West Virginia will provide
information about becoming an organ donor during a program to be held from 11
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the college's multi-purpose room.
She will discuss the facts on being a donor and how many men, women, and children are waiting life-saving organ transplants. She will also discount myths regarding organ donor eligibility. Past donors and recipients will also speak about their stories.
The program is free and open to the public. Healthy foods, including fruits, juices and multigrain snacks, will be available.
As part of the program, the campus community and area residents will have the opportunity to register online as a donor throughout the day.
The program is sponsored by the college's Psi Beta honorary and Psychology Club.
Those unable to attend
Wednesday's program can register as an organ donor on line at
https://donatelife.wv.gov/
for West Virginia residents or
http://www.lifelineofohio.org/
for Ohio residents.
