FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Students at West Virginia University at Parkersburg now have the convenience of accessing free, up-to-date information regarding the status of their enrollment and student loans via the Internet.
The college is a new participant in the National Student Clearinghouse's Student Self-Service program which makes it possible for students to login into WVU Parkersburg's registration portal to perform various enrollment-related activities for free.
"Students will be able to print enrollment verification certificates for health insurers and other organizations, view their enrollment history, and access a list of their student loan holders and other lender information, including real-time information on their student loans," Leslie Sims, college registrar, said.
"They can accomplish this without making a special trip to the Records or Financial Aid offices," she added.
By accessing the college's secure On-Line Student Information System portal, WVU Parkersburg students now have a wide range of enrollment verification activities available to them in addition to the usual on-line course registration selections.
"They can login into OLSIS, click on the links for student records and the National Student Clearinghouse and then choose a menu of self-service options," Mrs. Sims said.
A link to the college's OLSIS portal is located on WVU Parkersburg's home page ( www.wvup.edu ). OLSIS is the college's web-based system for registering for classes and accessing grades, among other on-line services.
Hundreds of institutions nationwide offer free enrollment verifications to their students through the non-profit National Student Clearinghouse. The organization helps educational institutions improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance quality of service in providing degree and enrollment verification solutions.
