WVU Parkersburg to host chess tournament.

West Virginia University at Parkersburg's newly formed chess club is sponsoring a tournament on Saturday, Feb. 20, in the college's multi-purpose room.

The chess tourney is open to area residents and college students interested in participating in tournament play. 

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the tournament to get under way from 9 a.m. to noon.  Participants are asked to bring their own chess boards.

Prizes will be awarded as part of the competition.  The WVU Parkersburg Chess-Nuts Club plans to make the tournament an annual event.  Additional information is available by contacting faculty advisor Anthony Betonte at the college, 304-424-8312.
