WVU Parkersburg to mark formal beginning of academic year with August 31st Convocation.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWest Virginia University at Parkersburg will mark the formal beginning of the academic year with a Convocation at 11 a.m., Monday (August 31).
Keynote speaker will be WV First Lady Gayle Manchin. The faculty will formally process in academic regalia as part of the ceremony.
The Convocation is for all new WVU Parkersburg students, noted Anthony Underwood, vice president for student services.
Underwood said the Convocation is designed to welcome new students to campus and celebrate the beginning of the academic year.
"It serves as a platform for new students to come together and begin to make the most of their college experience," he added.
Students in attendance will sign the college's honor code. The Convocation will be held in the multi-purpose room.
