| The Big Read. West Virginia University at Parkersburg is collaborating with area public libraries to sponsor a "Big Read" in the Mid-Ohio Valley. The college has received a National Endowment for the Arts' grant to coordinate the project, designed to to encourage reading. Events and activities are being planned for October to encourage area residents to read the Mid-Ohio Valley's "Big Read" selection which is Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird."
