WVU Parkersburg hosts adjunct faculty open houses

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Virginia University at Parkersburg and its Jackson County Center in Ripley will host open houses for area residents interested in becoming adjunct faculty members.

The free open houses will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the multi-purpose room on the Parkersburg campus and Thursday, Oct. 29 at the JCC location in Ripley. Both sessions are from 6 to 8 p.m.

Adjunct teaching opportunities are available in the following areas: Business, Economics & Mathematics: Accounting, Business Law, Finance, Journalism, Management, Marketing, and Mathematics; Workforce and Community Education: non-credit programs; Education & Humanities: Art, Early Childhood Development, English, Music, Reading, Teacher Education, and Theatre; Health Sciences: Nursing, Paramedic, and Surgical Technology) Social Sciences & Languages: Criminal Justice, Foreign Languages, Forensic Pathology, Psychology, Religion, Sociology, and Speech; Science & Technology: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science/Information, Energy, HVAC, Engineering Technology, Geology, Industrial Maintenance, Physics, Technology, and Welding.

The open houses are designed for participants to discuss their interests and credentials with representatives from the college's academic divisions. A variety of class assignments is available.
