CONTACT:  Anthony Underwood, vice president for Student Services, 304-424-8209.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Students, faculty and staff at West Virginia University at Parkersburg will pause to remember the Sept. 11th tragedy with a campus ceremony at 10 a.m., Friday (Sept. 11).

The program will be held in front of the main college building.  WVU Parkersburg President Marie Foster Gnage will be among those providing comments.  A moment of silence will also be observed.

The event is being organized by the college's Student Government Association as part of its "Troops Week" observance to show support for the country's armed services.

The campus community will join together to pause and remember those who lost their lives in the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the airline flights on Sept. 11, 2001.

The 9/11 ceremony is open to the public.
