WVU Parkersburg Student Government to observe "Support Our Troops Week."

A concert, cookout and tie-dyed red, white and blue t-shirts will highlight "Support Our Troops Week" beginning Monday (Sept. 8) at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
The week is coordinated by the Student Government Association in a salute to the country's armed services.SGA members will give away support bracelets all day Monday (Sept. 8) and students are encouraged to wear anything "camo" to show support. Also, armed forces' recruiters will be on campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Tuesday (Sept. 9), SGA members will tie-dye t-shirts in red, white and blue for students with donations to be used for care packages to send to overseas' troops.
A cookout will be held Wednesday (Sept. 10) as part of the "troops week" observance on the campus front lawn with exhibits and demonstrations by various armed services organizations.
Students, faculty and staff will pause to participate in a 9/11 memorial ceremony at 9 a.m., Thursday (Sept. 11) at the college flagpole.
The troops' week activities will conclude Friday (Sept. 12) with a concert featuring country music star Keni Thomas at 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. The concert is open to the public. Tickets are $2 in advance, $5 at the door. All active and retired military with proper ID plus one guest will be admitted free.
