WVU Parkersburg to host state tournament of West Virginia Intercollegiate Forensics Association this weekend (Feb. 22-23, 2008).

Six West Virginia collegiate teams will vie for honors at the annual West Virginia Intercollegiate Forensics Association's tournament being held this weekend (Feb. 22-23) at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

Friday's event will involve Lincoln Douglas Debate competition.

Eleven individual events will take place all day Saturday.  In addition to WVU Parkersburg, institutions participating in the tourney include Alderson-Broaddus College, Fairmont State University, Marshall University, Ohio Valley University, and Shepherd University.

The WVIFA competition serves as the state tournament.  Students who qualify advance to the national tournament and the Interstate Oratorical Association's tourney.
